St. George Island Trip

Well, we returned last night from a trip to the beach with my family.  We had a great time relaxing, bike riding, swimming, eating seafood, watching movies, playing games, and much more.  I only wish we hadn't had to come home!  Poor Andy is already back to the grind today.  Here are some random photos from the week...

Ahh, the beach.  Andy snapped this on our last morning...

We had stayed in this beach house before, but had never noticed this sign.  Does number 7 really need to be said?

Connor met the perfect girl at the grocery...

I painted a picture for our master bedroom...

And another...

Murphy will wear just about anything you put on her when she's tired...

When my brother and Andy get together, they collectively lose brain cells.  Rather than walking around the fence to get the ball they lost, they chose to try to use pool cleaning equipment to pull it back over the fence.  It took forever, but they were ridiculously proud of themselves when they got it back.

We found out that my childhood bestie (named Megan too) was also on the island the same week.  Andy, my mom, and I went to visit with them on the beach one morning.  I finally got to meet her sweet girls and catch up.  Andy got some baby snuggling in too!  It was such a fun reunion...

On our last day, we hopped in the van and headed to Wakulla Springs...

We had heard about their glass bottom boat tours, so we bought our tickets and showed up for our boat time to find...that we were on a metal-bottomed boat.

But we had fun anyway!

Although our guide was overly excited about all of the rare birds we were seeing on our tour, we had our eyes out for alligators.  We got a little closer to one than we wanted to (still not sure she was the best boat driver), but it was really neat.

The trees were so cool...

And the water was so clear.  It reminded me of the Caribbean...

People were swimming not far from here...in the same water that the alligators were swimming in.  No thank you.

And the obligatory kid picture with the sign.  Only Andy and Chuck got the memo about pointing to the sign with me.

We had a great week and are very grateful to my parents for hosting us.  It was a blast!  We also had a photographer take some family photos, so hopefully they will be worthy of sharing in a few weeks when I get them.  Thanks again for taking us, Mom and Dad!!!
