Souper Bowl...

Well, it's official.  The Bozeman house has been broken in.  We had our Life Group over last night for a discussion, food, and Super Bowl viewing--we ended up having 23 people over!  I was really nervous about the seating (especially around the TV), but it all worked out.  We had several different soups, dips, and desserts.  It was a really good time.

Yay Giants, right?  I think I watched all of 2 minutes of the game, but I did manage to see the halftime show.  I had forgotten about the old-school Madonna music--loved it!

Anywho, I'll leave you with a really great taco soup recipe that I made last night for the party.  It's become my stand-by recipe because it is so easy, makes a lot, and is SO tasty.  A big "thank you" to Linda for sharing it with me!!!

Taco Soup:
1 lb. ground beef/turkey
2 cans kidney beans
2 cans cream corn
2 cans chopped tomatoes
1 can Rotel
1 onion
1 pkg. Ranch dressing
1 pkg. taco seasoning

Brown meat and add onion.  Mix all ingredients together and cook for 1 hour.

Warning: Work in Progress

No judging.  I have no idea where I am going with this guest bedroom, and it is a major work in progress.  Here we go...

Here is the big picture...

And from the other side of the room...

First off, we painted the room.  Yes, I mean "we."  Andy was a real trooper and rolled all of the walls for me.  I had the awesome job of trimming out the room.  We were able to knock it out in several hours (I have no sense of time when I'm painting).  We went with "Gray Screen" by Sherwin Williams.  A soft gray blue.

My mom made some panels for us from the gray Dwell Studio bird fabric (yes, the same pattern as in the dining room--call me Alfred Hitchcock--I have a thing for birds) I had bought on deep discount last summer.

She also made us some shams and a throw from another Dwell Studio geometric fabric.  As you can see, I have yet to change out the brown coverlet.  The bedding will eventually go white.

The mirror is wrong.  It's right, but it's wrong.  I like the shape and size, but the finish is all wrong.  Just blah on the wall.  Not sure what I'm going to do about this yet.

I pulled the yellow hounds tooth pillows from other rooms (as well as the rosette pillow) for now.  However, I have my eye on a pair of solid yellow pillows that I need to save up for.  The patterns are just too much together.

We went with another simple black wooden rod in here.  Lowe's stopped carrying them (don't get me started), so my mom found a similar one at a local fabric store.

Close up of the shams.  Love how they turned out.

The painting isn't staying over the bed (sorry, Mom).  It seems too dink-mcdinkster in that spot, so I am looking to do some sort of grouping above the bed instead.

I was forced to change out the shower curtain in this bathroom so that it went along with the new color scheme.  Sad, I just had to get the shower curtain I've had my eye on for FOREVER.

I changed out the rings for some little white egg-ish looking ones.

And for now, I am letting this painting sit above the toilet because the colors do seem to work in here.  I'm eventually going to also paint the bathroom, and in the process will remove that AWFUL towel bar above the toilet.  Does anyone really love those???

So there you have it.  Much work to go, but at least we are moving forward!
