Breaking Dawn...

No.  Let's not talk about the fourth Twilight saga movie that I might have seen earlier today.  It really was pretty good, if you are in to completely ridiculous vampire/werewolf scenarios played out on the big screen. :)

I thought I'd take a moment to show a few things that have been going on around here...

First, Andy and I tackled the garage yet again today.  No, it clearly isn't as cleaned out as it needs to be to get both cars in, but it is cleared out enough for one!  I think this past week's frosty windows (that Andy scraped on both cars prior to leaving for work) provided the much-needed motivation to clean up a bit.  Still a work in progress here...

I also painted one of our columns a couple of days ago.  I was scared to paint more than one until I was absolutely sure that this was what I wanted to do.  I won't say that my immediate thought was "Oh, wow!  Best change ever!", but I think I am going to go through with it.

I think I'll like it even better when I go ahead and paint out the other ones.  Having one lone white column makes you lose your vision for the project.

Updates to come when I get these done!

The new dining room light fixture is officially out of the box and ready to install.  Andy has promised me that tomorrow is the day.  I'll make sure to show you how it looks when we get it up and running!

Last, but not least, I moved the wee-little red piece that our TV used to sit on (prior to the built-in) to the foyer today.  It had been sitting against a wall in the living room, and I had really been wanting a foyer table, so this piece became my temporary fix.  The piece is clearly too small for the area, but it allows me a little lamplight on this wall, and it is a FREE stand-in for now.

I literally staged this piece in a couple of minutes with items I already had on hand, so don't judge me too harshly.  The lamp and books came from the closet, and the wrought iron-ish piece had been in the garage.  Oh, and the ugly cord hanging down behind the piece?  That was just real lucky...
