This really NEVER happens to me...

While out and about with my mom and sister today, I happened upon a steal of a deal.  I really wasn't looking for fabric today, but when the right fabric finds you for just the right price, you just have to go with it.

We made a stop at Old Time Pottery to browse for a garden stool.  I've had my eye on them for a while, but I refuse to pay a lot of money for one.  I may be looking forever. :)  But while there, I stopped by the fabric scrap table expecting to find what I usually do: Nothing.  However, a scrap at the bottom of the stack caught my eye...

I knew I had seen an ikat pattern like this one before, but I couldn't really place it.  I had a seen a pillow cover on Etsy this week that had a similar feel to it, but I just knew I'd seen the pattern elsewhere.

The beauty of this particular scrap table was that each piece was $3.98 a yard.  A major steal if you actually find a piece you like.  I still wasn't quite sure if I should go ahead with it, considering I have no clue how I want to go about decorating the next house.  But then...

My mom came to my rescue and looked at the brand.  First, the fabric is made by Braemore, which according to my decorator madre, is a very good brand of fabric.  However, if you continue studying the itty-bitty writing, you will see that the design came from none other than West Elm!  Then it clicked.  I've seen this same fabric on their chairs and ottomans!

Well, at this point, it was a no-brainer.  I was able to purchase 5.6 yards of the fabric at $3.98 a yard, so with tax, I spent approximately 24 bucks.  When I got home, I researched the fabric for fun, just to see if I really got a deal or not.  As it turns out, this same fabric sells for $30 a yard on West Elm's website!  So, as my lovely accounting husband says, I got somewhere around a 90% discount!!!

I have decided that this will be my one and only fabulous fabric find at OTP.  It will never happen again.  I can die a happy girl. :)

We also made a stop at Pier One...

I really couldn't help myself!  Aren't these just adorable?  Loving the trellis patterns out there...
