A Year's Worth of Changes...

2010 was a big year for our home.  Through numerous projects this year, Andy and I managed to take our home from bachelor pad central to a cozy little dwelling for the Bozeman clan.  Although some projects were more time-consuming, costly, and stressful than others...all was worth it in the end.  Here are a few of the "befores" and "afters" from the past year.

I look back over these pictures and I'm suddenly taken back to how things used to be.  I look back at the guest bath floors and the dingy kitchen cabinets and am reminded of how much better things are than they used to be.  I remembered thinking at one time, "This bathroom is so gross, I'll never forget how bad it looks right now."  But then you make the changes, and you so quickly forget just how yuck it really was!

I can also see how my decorating sense has changed from one room to the next.  I'm glad that I took risks this year with paint choices and accessory placements, even if they were the wrong choices at the time.  I've learned a lot from my mistakes, and even more from my successes.  It's been a long year of finding myself in decorating.  I'm still not there yet, but I'm thankful for a less-than-perfect first home that afforded me MANY opportunities to try new things.  Because of this first year in our first home, I have found an interest in decorating, remodeling, fabrics, paint swatches, and furniture that I never knew I had.  Thanks to you, Bozeman Bungalow, for putting up with my many changes and mistakes--you look better than before, I assure you. :)

Andy and I are also a bit more handy because of the work we have done this year.  Little do you guys know, Andy just changed out the last faucet in the house (half bath) all by himself.  I'll keep him around, yes I will.  In fact, here's a virtual "pat on the back" to you, Mr. Bozeman, for picking up a hammer and nail for the fifteenth time to hang a different mirror in the same place as the old one because the old one just wasn't the "look" I was going for.  Here's to you for keeping quiet when I begged to buy just another gallon of paint because I was just certain I had the right color this time.  Here's to you when yet another TJ Maxx bag entered the house in my hands and you just looked the other way.  You've allowed me to figure things out in my own way and on our collective dime.  Love you--mean it.

There have been many changes around here this year.  Who knows what 2011 may have in store!   We wish you the very best in this new year.  See you in 2011!!!
