Shopping in my closet...

So, due to my recent blog readings, I have been thinking a lot about changing up items that I already own to use for decor.  If nothing else--for money's sake!  Sometimes I like the "feel" of some of my accessories (I wouldn't have bought them if I didn't), but they just aren't working right in the house.  Nothing a little spray paint can't change!!!

Example A:  My Circley Old TJ Maxx Find

Obviously, this piece is a little different, but I've always liked it.  I bought it in college and used it often back then.  Although the antiqued finish was perfectly fine once upon a time, it wasn't working for me...and I had some leftover black spray paint...and I am a teacher who doesn't work in the summer...and I needed something to do...
...and I had these lemons and apples that looked AWFUL in my candle holders.  Yes, I fully admit that this was NOT working as a centerpiece on my dining room table...
So...Tah-Dah!!!
I stole all of the lemons and apples from their candle holders and placed them in this newly-painted piece.  Much cuter use for these!
And I placed my newly refurbished piece on the etagere in the dining room.  A fun and FREE change...husbands LOVE these!!!

Another update...

The fabric has been purchased for my Craigslist chair!  Woo-Woo!  After discussing my paint options for the wood portions of the chair with mi madre, I have decided to do a red/brown remix.  Basically, I am going to spray down the wood with the red primer spray paint I used for my desk chair (remember that project?), and then I am going to brush on some dark brown stain and seal (that is leftover from the kitchen cabinets) over it.  Most of the brown will be wiped off to show the red through the paint strokes.  This will be an interesting project for me--I'm a little sketchy on the paint treatments.  Stick with me...I'll take lots of pictures as I go!!!
